IT WAS A BEE
In the heart of the Aran Valley, where nature unfolds its splendor, Dani has found his purpose: caring for bees and perpetuating a family tradition that stretches back four generations. You can find him in the idyllic village of Unha.
Inspired by his great-grandmother, a pioneering beekeeper of her time, Dani has passionately taken up a profession that not only connects with the land, but is essential to life itself.
Under the *Era Abelha* brand, Dani offers honey that reflects the unique environment in which it is harvested. From the exquisite *Mèu de Nauta Montanha* in the highlands of Banhs de Tredós to the aromatic *Mèu de Mil Flors*, gathered in the meadows and along the paths of the valley, each jar captures the soul of the Aran Valley landscapes. In winter, following the needs of the bees, Dani practices transhumance, moving his hives to Bigues i Riells to produce *Mèu de Romanin* and to Alcanar, where he harvests the sweet and citrusy *Mèu d'Irangér*.
Consuming honey directly from the beekeeper and through short supply chains, like Dani's, not only ensures an exceptionally high-quality product but also reinforces a sustainable model that respects the environment. Rich in antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, honey is an essential food for both physical and emotional health.
Furthermore, by purchasing it from local producers, we support the Valley's economy and help preserve a vital balance for biodiversity.
At *Era Abelha*, aware of the importance of pollination and the balance of ecosystems, they work every day to protect those magical beings, the bees, and to foster a deeper connection with nature.
Visiting the Aran Valley and tasting *Era Abelha* is much more than enjoying a sweet treat: it's connecting with the history, tradition and future of a magical place that continues to thrive thanks to people like Dani.
